About Master of Technology (M.Tech)
The Master of Technology (M.Tech) is an advanced two-year postgraduate professional degree structured across four semesters. Designed for engineering graduates, it combines theoretical foundations with rigorous research thesis work, advanced laboratory engineering, and industry-sponsored innovation projects.
Admissions to India's premier engineering institutions—including IITs, NITs, and IIITs—are primarily governed by the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) followed by centralized counseling portals (COAP and CCMT). M.Tech graduates secure high-impact roles in research and development, semiconductor design, robotics, AI architecture, and higher academia.
M.Tech Admission & Eligibility Overview
B.Tech / B.E. / M.Sc. in relevant discipline with minimum 60% aggregate (or 6.5 CGPA) and valid GATE scorecard.
GATE qualification followed by Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for IITs or Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT) for NITs.
Counseling & Seat Allocation
COAP coordinates direct admission offers across all IITs; CCMT conducts centralized counseling across NITs, IIITs, and participating GFTIs.
